Sharjah Youth Parliament Members Discuss Disabilities

 

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of Supreme Council Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, which fall under the umbrella of the foundation, conducted last night the first official session of Sharjah Youth Parliament of the scheduled role in the seventh legislative chapter at Sharjah Consultative Council.

The discussion’s main focus was people with disabilities, several cases that concerned the youth and the role played by government entities to adopt these cases and resolve them. The session was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Salim Al Madhloom – Executive Manager of Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped, Her Excellency Kaltham Obaid Al Matrooshi – Girls Branch Manager of Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped, Her Excellency Maryam Ali Al Shehhi – Deputy Manager of Girls Branch of Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped, Ms Fatima Mohammad Musharbek – Sharjah Youth Parliament’s higher committee chairperson, Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi vice chairperson of the higher committee, several officials, guardians and press members.

The 80 parliament members from Sharjah Youth and Sajaya, represented by the Chairperson Khadija Al Khaldi, Vice Chairperson Mohammed Al Mazroui and the secretaries Hussein Al Bannai and Jameela Al Zaabi, addressed words of gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi member of supreme council ruler of Sharjah, and his wife Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi for their continuous support and directives to enable the youth and include them in the decision making process in cases that concern them, ensuring that the members strive to promote leadership values in service of the community through constructive dialogues and transparency.

 

Ms. Fatima Musharbek confirmed that Sharjah Youth Parliament is one of the parliaments experiments established by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, and is considered to be proof on the optimum investment in our youth, as a free platform open for expressing their opinions and their prospects for the future. She also assured the attendees that Sharjah Youth Parliament will continue to display the most important cases that concern the youth through the coming sessions, whether official or otherwise.

 

The session resulted in several recommendations made by the youth, which will be directed to the concerned officials and parties to study the possibility of applying them in the future to benefit the society.
