Sharjah Youth Learn Valuable Skills in theater and performing arts

 

As part of its keenness to develop the skills of its affiliates aged 13 to 18 in theater and performing arts, the Sharjah Youth, affiliated with the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, launched the "Acting and Actor Capacity Development" program. To train them on how to develop their theatrical performance capabilities through various applications to build the character of the actor.

 

During the "Acting and Actor Capacity Development” program presented by actor Saeed Al-Harassi, the participants learned about the principles and basics of acting through exercises related to physical expression, voice techniques, embody, and theatrical improvisation. They also explored their ability to express through body language, voice, and casting skills through various exercises and their application to theatrical characters.

 

Trainer Saeed Al-Harassi explained the concept of improvisation, its basics, and benefits in developing participants' skills in quick intuition, attention and focus on the most minor details, and how to embody the theatrical character.

 

Sharjah youth continues the puppet arts program with the 'Basic of Shadow Plays' workshop, which is a continuation of the puppet show completion workshop. This workshop is presented by director Adnan Salloum, a theater art expert and a group of specialized trainers from inside and outside the country. Based on the Foundation's keenness to provide its members with all the skills to complete an integrated presentation, from idea to text and from text to presentation, by training them on the skills of designing, making, and moving puppets. Finally, the trainer will be coaching them on how to express their feelings in front of the audience.

 

After eight months of training, the puppet arts program, which concludes next Saturday evening, will be crowned with an artistic theater show entitled "Above the Earth, Under the Sky." The show will be presented by the members of the Sharjah Youth at the Emirates Center for Puppetry Arts - at the Theatrical Association headquarters in the heart of Sharjah.
